Social Sciences

The social science area of the “Colegio Bilingue de Valledupar”, shows great improvement in every aspect of scholar and pedagogic life at school, since the start-up of the basic skills in social science up until the effort the bilingualism made to implement the Social Studies program that has given great rewards in the consolidation of the English language.

It’s also important to highlight the increase of the scores in the state exams in this area, in social sciences, philosophy and citizen skills which have become one of the strengths of this institution.

For this task, it´s important to state the commitment acquired by the teachers in the classroom, their preparation and suitability and the receptivity of the students for the subjects in this area in both English and Spanish.

It´s always been tradition that academic events that are organized by the department have always had a great academic level and preparation, which gives a great name to our institution. Annually, the United Nations Model BIMUN happens which has the participation of recognized schools of cities like Bogota, Medellin, Santa Marta and Valledupar.

On the other hand, the election of the Class Representative once again develops citizen skills and promotes the formation of democratic values in our students. We also want to highlight the high level of both the campaigns and the debates, and the concerns of our students to get to know them and study them thoroughly. They carry out the traditional liturgies such as: First Communions, Confirmations, Confessions and Masses, in which families come together and reaffirm the commitment of the institution to the ethical and religious values of our community.

Women´s Day highlights the wonderful job that so many women lead with example so many different aspects of society. In a very respectful and heartfelt act, with the contribution of all of the bilinguista women, an assembly is held which displays the way in which women adapt and are the protagonists in the changes that our society requires.
